Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Compare treatment strategies for opioid-tolerant patients with chronic persistent pain who experience breakthrough pain and are appropriate candidates for pain management using rapid-onset opioids in order to improve the management of breakthrough pain in these individuals.
