Program Overview

Over 6 million children are affected by asthma in the United States, making it one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood. This program will focus on the use of practice guidelines in patient management, the importance of individualized therapy, and approaches to improving adherence and treatment effectiveness.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

• Apply clinical recommendations from practice guidelines to the management of pediatric and adolescent patients with asthma
• Improve adherence rates and overall effectiveness of asthma management strategies

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pediatricians and other health care professionals who provide care for children and adolescents with asthma.
